What’s DPF Inside & How It Works

This specialized foam cleaner is crafted to infiltrate and dissolve soot and carbon buildup within DPF and catalytic converters.

The aerosol pack includes:

•Long flexible nozzle for easy port access,

•Precision foam that clings and penetrates hard deposits,

•Safe, residue-free formula that evaporates cleanly.

How to use:

1.Park on a level surface and allow the system to cool (<40 °C).

2.Remove the temperature or O₂ sensor.

3.Shake the can, attach the nozzle, and insert into the sensor port.

4.Spray foam evenly into the filter or converter.

5.Let it dwell for about 20–30 minutes.

6.Reinstall the sensor and start the engine either drive to allow regeneration or use a diagnostic  tool to initiate it.

Similar aerosol-based cleaners, such as LIQUI MOLY’s DPF/GPF Cleaner, follow this method to deliver quick and cost-effective results no special tools needed.

Why GP Stands Out

Optimized for ease: The ergonomic design and smart packaging simplify foam injection.

Dual-system capability: Works seamlessly with both DPF and catalytic systems.

Workshop-tested: Built with insights from automotive professionals for trusted performance.

Enhances lifespan: Regular use can delay expensive repairs and extend component life.

The GP DPF & Catalytic Foam Cleaner like the one from uses a specialized blend of active ingredients designed to dissolve soot, carbon, and hydrocarbon residues inside diesel particulate filters  DPFs  and catalytic converters without damaging the substrate.

Typical Active Ingredients & Their Functions :

- Surfactants : These help the foam spread evenly and penetrate deep into the honeycomb structure of the DPF and catalyst. They reduce surface tension, allowing the cleaner to reach embedded deposits.

- Solvents (often oxygenated hydrocarbons) : These dissolve carbonaceous residues and UN burnt fuel particles. They’re chosen for their ability to break down stubborn soot without corroding metal or ceramic surfaces.

-  Detergents : These lift and suspend particles, making it easier for the foam to carry away contaminants during the rinse or regeneration phase.

- Foaming Agents : These create the dense, expanding foam that fills the internal cavities of the DPF and catalyst, ensuring full contact with all surfaces.

- Corrosion Inhibitors : Added to protect metal components during the cleaning process, especially sensors and housing materials.

- Water or Alcohol Base : Depending on the formulation, the cleaner may use water or alcohol as a carrier to help deliver the active ingredients and evaporate cleanly after use.

The exact chemical composition is proprietary, but the formulation is designed to be safe for diesel systems and compatible with all diesel fuels. It’s also engineered to work at relatively low temperatures (below 40°C), making it ideal for workshop use without requiring heat-based activation.
